Clik here to view. When it comes to mascara, for my taste, the more natural the better. I don’t favor clumpy, mega voluminous (that’s what falsies are for). I have resisted the fibre mascara craze of late for many reasons. In terms of reviews, this is a first for me. I’ve been hounded by fibre mascara brands and very resistant of the notion, mostly due to the fact that their approach is very aggressive. However, Cherry Bloooms Australia came with such a great rapport and good ingredients, I actually wanted to try them.
The verdict? I like Cherry Blooms, lots. Intended to give a voluptuous and “clump free” set of lashes, Cherry Blooms is made with high grade beeswax. I applied as instructed and definitely noticed a big difference straight away. I will say that the secret with fibre mascaras is making sure you brush out excess as you go, to avoid the spider web clumpy lash syndrome (hideous, in my opinion). The set comes with two tubes, the mascara and the fibres. First, I applied a few coats of the gel mascara, brushed out excess and right away I applied the fibres, finally lashes are supposed to be set with the first applicator. There is no fallout if you take this brushing out excess step in an up-and-out motion using a clean wand. As you can see from my photos, I went for a very subtle look and made sure I curled using my Shu Uemura lash curler.
My advice would be to ensure the lashes are 100% clean and if you have any eye sensitivity to try a thin gel coat, first. The Cherry Blooms formula is said to be safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers. My eyes felt fine but I went very slow and gradual. What’s the removal process like? This was the deal breaker for me. Removing Cherry Blooms was fairly mess free, as expected with most mascaras but I didn’t get raccoon eyes at all. (I use Bioderma makeup remover as well as wash my face).
Ingredients:
Water, high-grade potent beeswax, carnauba wax, black iron oxide, natural cellulose fibers, stearic acid, natural emulsifying agents.
Overall, Cherry Blooms was a pretty nice fibre mascara, a little steep in price but if you want the fuller look and don’t want to wear false lashes, check them out. **This product is not tested on animals and is made in Australia. Cherry Blooms fibre mascara is the only one with a 30-day money back guarantee and the BLACK fibers stay put all day and not fall into your eyes like similar brands with a cheaper price tag**
Cherry Blooms retails for $59-$137 and is available online.
