Lavera Natural Liquid Foundation ReviewLavera Foundation Honey Sand 03Lavera Foundation Honey SandLately, I have been on a sheer coverage foundation kick. Lavera Natural Liquid Foundation is a German product that comes very highly regarded as fellow makeup artist Lisa Eldridge dedicated an entire video tutorial about it. This is a new type of foundation for me particularly, since it is silicone-free, paraben free and offers sheer coverage. Lavera is vegan, organic, gluten free, not tested on animals. From the onset, I can tell you it feels very nice on the skin, almost like skincare because it is so light, sinks right into the skin and doesn’t sit like your average foundation. If you are looking for an environmental and organic range, Lavera is “it”. There are also no synthetic preservatives, no fragrances emulsifiers and petroleum products used in Lavera products. This is as organic and earth-friendly as it gets.

Since my skin is on the dry side, I didn’t use any primer with Lavera foundation, just my regular moisturizer to achieve a dewy, day look that looked and felt like my own skin. The result of using Lavera Liquid Foundation? It is a gorgeous, natural and soft finish foundation. (See photo in daylight). I used Honey Sand 03 and it was a great match in color.

If you are someone who likes a medium to heavy coverage or in need of some correcting/ concealing, this may not be for your taste. Because I like my under eyes slightly more covered, I mixed a small amount of OCC Skin Conceal just to achieve a slightly higher level of correction (OCC is also a vegan brand). I’ve used Lavera Natural Liquid Foundation several times and it held amazingly well. My only gripe is that Lavera does not offer a huge range of color for ladies with darker skin.
