Oh Tatcha! You spoiled me. I’ve had this body cream on the testing shelve for a few months and I am pleased to say, this is super hydrating and feels amaaaazing on. At first glance, the blue (Indigo) shade is a very unique color for a body moisturizer, the scent is soft, a touch fresh/ citrus and gentle on contact. This is a body cream that’s made for sensitive, inflamed or irritated skin consistent with symptoms of dermatitis, eczema and rosacea. In the past, I’ve discussed my dealings with dermatitis from living in Singapore. I am (extra) careful with skin creams and tend to not use drugstore brands or brands that aren’t petroleum-free and laden with funky ingredients. On skin touch, Tatcha Indigo Soothing Silk Body Butter feels indulgent and rich yet it is not heavy, irritant or sticky.
Another major plus about this brand is that it is free of parabens, synthetic fragrances, mineral oil, sulfate detergents, phthalates, urea, DEA or TEA. Tatcha does not test on animals, a huge bonus. This is a brand inspired by Japanese skincare and the travels of creator Victoria Tsai. On a trip to Kyoto, she discovered the world of beauty in Japanese culture. Ms Tsai created Tatcha after suffering from acute dermatitis and developing a deep awareness about the importance of ingredients used on the skin.
Tatcha Indigo Soothing Silk Body Butter has Tryptanthrin and indirubin actives that help reduce irritation and promote skin’s natural healing ability. Most creams are white, whilst Tatcha Indigo, true to its name, is of a soft blue hue that won’t stain the skin at all. I loved the texture and small size which can fit into a travel bag or even a handbag. Tatcha Indigo Soothing Silk Body Butter is considered a best seller in the Tatcha family of products, the reviews on the website and across the Internet are glowing and now I know why.
